State of Texas v. David Barajas
Jury Verdict: Not Guilty of MurderDavid Barajas was prosecuted for murder following the death of Jose Banda after a tragic collision that killed Barajas's two young sons. Sam R. Cammack III represented Barajas at trial.
The defense challenged the State's ability to prove who fired the fatal shot. No murder weapon was recovered, gunshot-residue testing on Barajas was negative, and no witness testified to actually seeing Barajas fire the weapon.
After hearing the evidence, the Brazoria County jury acquitted David Barajas of murder.

State of Texas v. Damian Ricardo Flores
6–6 Hung Jury · MistrialDamian Flores was tried on an attempted-capital-murder charge arising from the highly publicized shooting of Yvonne Stern. Sam Cammack represented Flores at trial and challenged the prosecution's identification evidence and theory of the case.
After approximately 12 hours of deliberation, jurors reported that they were deadlocked 6–6. The court granted the defense motion for a mistrial.

State of Texas v. Jordan Isaiha Lopez
Convicted of Lesser Offense of MurderJordan Lopez was 17 at the time of the underlying incident and faced a capital-murder prosecution. Sam Cammack represented Lopez at trial and argued that the evidence supported self-defense and that Lopez had been heavily influenced by his older brother.
The jury did not convict Lopez of capital murder. It returned a verdict on the lesser offense of murder. Lopez received a 35-year sentence, below the State's 40-year sentencing recommendation.
